Frasers settles further land at Edmondson Park Town Centre for $63m
Frasers Property have settled on a further 49ha of the Landcom estate at Edmondson Park for $63m.
UrbanGrowth NSW started a two-stage sale process in August 2014 to select a preferred tenderer to purchase and develop the future mixed use town centre site at Edmondson Park. Stage one of the sale process involved an Expression of Interest issued to the open market for a 13ha parcel.
The sites are located next to the new Edmondson Park train station and enjoy excellent access to the M5 and M7 Motorways. The initial parcel was zoned B4 – Mixed Use, and it had Part 3A Concept Plan approval for up to 45,000m2 retail/commercial floor space and a minimum of 912 dwellings including apartments, town houses and terraces.
Frasers commenced site works in 2017 and appointed Probuild was appointed late last year to deliver stage one of Ed.Square Town Centre, which will comprise 25,000sqm of retail space incorporating a shopping, dining and entertainment with an Event Cinemas complex, waterplay area and healthcare facilities, as well as approximately 90 specialty shops, a full-line Coles supermarket and Liquorland outlet. The Centre is set to be completed in the second half of 2020, coinciding with the first residents moving in.
The 49ha second stage of the project involves land to the east and west of the existing parcel (as shown in red in the Masterplan below). The area to the east will predominantly comprise high density apartments whilst the land to the west will accommodate homes and medium density dwellings with large areas of open space.
On completion around 2023, Edmondson Park Town Centre will comprise approximately 1,900 new homes and apartments as well as a shopping and commercial precinct of some 40,000 square metres.
The Edmondson Park Town Centre development is expected to generate approximately 2,500 jobs over its seven-year construction program, and approximately 1,000 ongoing jobs are expected to be generated by the businesses within the new town centre.
