Data Centre Operator AirTrunk Settles on Lane Cove Site
Data centre operator, AirTrunk has settled on its Lane Cove West site as it expands its footprint in Sydney.
The private company has paid $51.5m for the 4 ha site at 1 Sirius Rd Lane Cove upon which it will build a four-storey data centre covering more than 34,000sqm across 19 data halls, of 1330 square metres each.
The company’s first data centre opened in Sydney’s Huntingwood in 2017, followed soon after by another in Melbourne’s Derrimut.
The Lane Cove site was previously owned by Rove Estate, which sought approval to rezone the property from light industrial use to mixed use for up to 900 dwellings. The application was not approved and the owners went on to list the property for sale in mid-2018.
Savills acted for the vendors on the sale.
